The film music of
MIKAEL TARIVERDIEV
[The greatest soundtrack composer you’d never heard of]
A chance meeting in a Moscow cafe one winter led to our discovery of one the greatest film composers of modern times - a man whose work was almost completely unknown in the West - because he lived and worked in the Soviet Union.
Mikael Tariverdiev scored over a hundred Russian movies, including some of the best loved and most popular of the 1970s and 1980s, becoming a household name in his home country.
We worked with Mikael’s wife Vera to introduce his music to listeners in the West through a series of high quality vinyl releases with recordings transferred from reel to reel magnetic tapes in his apartment.
To date, a 3 vinyl box-set and a further 3 high quality limited editions
with previously unheard audio have been released.
